Embracing God’s Righteousness

“The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:22-24 CSB)

Righteousness. It’s a word we hear often in church, but what does it truly mean? Righteousness is not just about following rules; it’s about being made right with God. It’s the incredible truth that, through faith in Jesus, we can stand before God as righteous—pure, holy, and blameless. This righteousness isn’t something we earn or deserve. It is a gift from God, given freely to anyone who believes.

What’s powerful about this verse is that it doesn’t matter who you are or what your past looks like. Righteousness is available to all who believe in Jesus, no matter your background or status. This is the incredible, unmerited grace of God.

When you feel unworthy or overwhelmed by guilt, remember that God sees you through the lens of Jesus’ righteousness. It’s not about your perfection—it’s about your faith in Him. When you encounter people who feel distant from God or unworthy of His love, extend the same grace to them that you’ve received. Share the good news that righteousness is a gift, available to all who believe.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for offering me righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. I recognize that I cannot be righteous on my own, but through Jesus, I am made clean. Help me to understand this gift more deeply and to embrace the freedom that comes with it. May I live in a way that reflects Your righteousness, showing others the transformation that only You can bring.  Amen.
