Kneel

Ephesians 3:14 - "For this reason I kneel before the Father” (CSB).

“For this reason” refers back to Ephesians 2:13-22.

Ephesians 2:13-22 is where Paul explains that Jews and Gentles alike have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Additionally, Jesus destroyed the barrier between Jew and Gentile.

Paul is saying, “Since you Gentiles been brought into the family of God…”

What is Paul’s response to God doing this wonderful thing?

“I kneel before the Father…”

Kneel literally translated is to “Bow my knees.”

This is the proper attitude in humble prayer.

It is not far off to notice how much our posture affects our minds, and how this would affect our prayers.

Paul in Acts 20:36 - After he said this, he knelt down and prayed with all of them.

Jesus in Luke 22:41 - Then he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and began to pray,”

If you have been wrestling with pride and arrogance, try to bow your knees before the Father in humble submission to Him.

Maybe, just maybe, we’ll "be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” - Ephesians 3:18-19
