Peace At All Times

Several weeks ago, for our Sunday night service Men’s and Women’s breakout sessions we studied the fruit of the spirit “peace”. I have so enjoyed these wonderful Bible study, sharing, and praying times; concentrating on the Galatians 5 scripture passage. With the undiagnosed speech difficulties I have been going through for a couple of months now, overcoming daily anxiety has been my focus, since the symptoms seem to most often appear when I’m under stress.

Phillippians 4:7 is a great comfort, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Having an incredible wife like my Carole, who displays the gift of overflowing peace into our home, and into the hearts of everyone connected with her, is a treasure beyond cost or description. In that Sunday night breakout session, I was reminded that I am never alone, God is always with me. My communication with Him, an active prayer life, is so very important. And that, “Peace isn’t something we achieve. It’s something we receive. God gives it.”

God’s peace is unlike the world’s peace. It comes only from trusting God. Worry and anxiety steals our peace, but God’s peace is supernatural. He always has our best interests at heart. And when we’ve lost our peace of mind, as Christ followers, we have the power to regain it. We truly can have peace at all times.

Your servant in Christ, Phillip
