Soli Deo Gloria
When you read this article Clarice and Jim Shuman, Carole and I will be ministering to the folks in Cuba on our Jubal Ministries Mission trip Oct. 16 to 24. Please keep us in your prayers daily for safety, good health and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all that we will be doing. We will be singing many concerts, planting at least one church startup, delivering medicines and medical supplies, providing pastoral and pastoral wives’ training, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the cities of Havana and Santa Clara, Cuba.
One of the greatest joys of Worship Ministry for me has been the many opportunities to go on local, national, and international mission trips. God has allowed me to go to half the states in America including Ohio, Alaska, California, New York, Texas, Colorado, Vermont and South Dakota; and foreign countries like Thailand, Jamaica, Russia, Moldova, Romania, Panama, and now Cuba. All these places have one thing in common; there are lost people there who do not know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Anytime I can have the opportunity to share my love for Jesus with a lost person it is my joy and privilege.
God has granted me the blessing of using music and songs to do just that; share His story of love, atonement and reconciliation with thousands through the years. I challenge us all to be aware of opportunities to share our salvation testimonies with those we come in contact. May I encourage you not to forget about our glass vase by the organ in the sanctuary. Every time you share the gospel with someone, please place a marble in the vase. Let’s fill that vase by the end of the year. As Dr. Jon Duncan, Musical Director of the Sons of Jubal and Jubalheirs, always reminds us, everything we sing, say, and do should reflect the idea of, “To God be the Glory – Soli Deo Gloria”.
Your servant, Pastor Phillip
