Without Wavering
Hebrews 10:23 says, "Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful.”
We are called to maintain spiritual consistency.
We are encouraged to hold firmly to the hope of our confession.
“Without wavering” could be translated, “Unswervingly.”
The idea is that an object stands absolutely straight and never departs from it.
We are to lay hold of Christ and never let go, not even a bit.
Is it really possible to live this way? Without wavering?
If holding onto the promises depending on our personal commitment, we would all fall short.
However, verse 23 reminds us that we hold onto the confession of our hope without wavering.
Why? Since He who promised is faithful.
God is faithful to provide the strength and stamina we need to endure.
God’s faithfulness is seen time and time again, generation after generation.
So, we hold on, unswervingly, without wavering.
How? In His strength.
If you feel like your faith has been tossed around through life’s circumstances, it may be that you have been operating from your personal reservoir of strength, instead of leaning wholly on Jesus.
Hold onto Jesus with all of your being.
